Update: According to the actor, the source of the leak is the Department of Household Registration, Under Ministry of Interior (Ref: https://www.ris.gov.tw/).
This is not usual when Cyble’s researchers come across a leak which essentially captures an entire country government data.
A few weeks ago, our researchers came across a leaked database on the darkweb where a known and reputable actor ‘Toogod” dropped the database of “Taiwan Whole Country Home Registry DB” comprising of 20 Million+ records.
The database size is 3.5 GB, and includes the following fields :
- Full Name
- Full Address
- ID
- Gender
- Date of birth
- Phone number
According to the actor, the leak is from 2019. Our preliminary analysis noted the last DOB record was from 2008. However, it should be noted that there are certain records with ‘NULL/empty’ DoB records, hence it’s hard to confirm how recent it is.
Our analysis is underway, and will update this post as soon we verify more information.
Given the sensitivity of the leak itself, Cyble’s researchers have acquired the leak and will be soon indexed at AmiBreached.com as well.
